Making your own notes from scratch takes AGES! and while this may have worked in high school as there were fewer topics and it’s a different way of testing students, I suggest you try to change up your method at university- try it and see what you think!

Just to say the point of having notes is to have something great to revise from, but this doesn’t mean you have to make the notes yourself or from scratch! I use notes that are already made and then adapt them to my needs, and here is roughly what I do for all my notes!!

1️⃣Take notes from trusted notebank/ older years 2️⃣Format in my favourite font 3️⃣Read through while highlighting/ summarising in bullet points/ rephrasing- ⚠️IMPORTANT needs to be active! If you’re just reading passively you may not remember as well (Sometimes I make mini notes in a different document/ making question cards on the side as I go) 4️⃣Add more photos or diagrams if relevant 5️⃣Look up any questions I have and add further info or details (I really make the notes my own!)

Pro tips!! ➡️Have you seen the navigation pane on the left in a word document? It’s so handy to stay organised especially when you have a huge topic like neuro and like 50 pages in your word document😱 ➡️Colour code your highlighting! Ex for me: medication names in green, investigations in grey, management in blue. ➡️Review your notes within the next few days preferably using active recall!
