A topic a lot of you have been asking me about! There are several ways to put in place active recall methods in your revision.
2 sided revision cards
One way of making revision cards with a question on the front and answers or important points on the back! ✍️📝These cards can be as detailed or as broad as you want, for example: what does this hormone do, what hormones are produced by the pituitary…
Use these cards to test yourself regularly at defined intervals to make sure you activate that knowledge!
Anki
The blank page method
(yes, it is as scary as it sounds- joking! it’s actually quite helpful!)
I use this with really important topics and essentially I sit myself in front of a white page and write down everything I know about the topic in as much detail as I can. As I’m a visual learner I often see the headings from my lesson on my head and then try to fill the headings. Bonus points for drawing diagrams if you remember them as well! (like hormone feedback loops for example)
It’s ok if I write down something wrong on my blank page as I then go over it with my notes and correct what I’ve written with a red pen (again, visual learner so it really helps me to see my mistakes corrected visually).
